Random Review: Underworld: Blood Wars (2017)

Vampire death dealer, Selene fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David and his father Thomas, she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Director: Anna Foerster; Writers: Cory Goodman (screenplay), Kyle Ward (story by); Stars: Kate Beckinsale, Theo James, Tobias Menzies

The war continues in the fifth intallment of the Underworld franchise as Selene is hunted by both sides for the where abouts of her hybrid daughter. She, of course, made sure she didn't know, and strangely, despite the torture and many near deaths, her enemies can't seem to believe it! In the end it only matters to the future of the franchise, which it appears there may be one despite the finality of the film. Underworld: Blood Wars is exactly what you expect it to be, a CGI action extravangaza with plenty of politics, betrayal, exposed secrets, and moody blood spilling. If this is truly the end I'm sure we will be all the better for it. If it isn't...

In theaters now!
