On this day in horror history.... April 29th, 1980
On this day in horror history.... considered to be one of the, if not the, greatest horror/suspense film maker of all time, Alfred Hitchcock dies. Known for 'Vertigo', 'The Birds' and a personal favorite of mine, 'Psycho'. Alfred set the standard for what horror film making should be. Blending elements of suspense and shock and awe, he created the slasher genre and made some of the most memorable films of the 50's and 60's. The world was a less terrifying place when he left this mortal coil.
