On this day in horror history.... Italy gets its first glimpse at George A. Romero's greatest achievement, as 'Dawn of the Dead' is released. My all time favorite zombie film and one that requires repeated viewings. As a matter of fact, why aren't you watching it right now?

On this day in horror history.... my favorite zombie film ever, is released, 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978). Setting the standard for what a zombie film truly can be, 'Dawn of the Dead' stood head and shoulders above all the others. Building on a concept and taking it to the next level, all the while commentating on the world at large. A true masterpiece, brought to us by the godfather of the modern zombie, George A. Romero.
