On this day in horror history.... May 7th, 1939
On this day in horror history.... Italian horror director and the man that made cannibalism scary, Ruggero Deodato was born. Almost single handedly creating the cannibalism sub genre, Ruggero gave birth to the magnum opus known as 'Cannibal Holocaust'. Not only did it spark a frenzy of other copycat films, it also is credited with starting the found footage genre, long before 'The Blair Witch Project' was even conceived. He also gave the world 'House on the Edge of the Park', 'The Barbarians' and 'Jungle Holocaust'. Happy Birthday! Let's all eat some human cake!
