This movie sucked! I really hated this film because it took a film series I loved and a character I love and just stomped it to the ground and just soiled on it. Only good thing I liked about the film was the concept for Freddy! Having Freddy look like a real burn victim instead of the comically looking Freddy Wes designed him to be which wasn't the first way Wes wanted Freddy to look. He wanted Freddy to be menacing and scary but went with more comic Freddy like we all know and love and used his original concept for New Nightmare. There's nothing appealing to Freddys face and after watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer the crappy Michael Bay film, Freddy looks just like them and that's creepy knowing Bay produced the remake. The jump scares were so lame and don't get me wrong when I first watched it the film scared the living crap out of me but now I just yawn. The actin was substantial and Jackie Earl Haley was no Freddy it was just Rorshach from Watchman, he couldn't change his voice that was deja vu! Rooney Mara is my favorite actress so is her sister Kate and she did a fantastic job as Nancy! But there's nothing good about Nightmare and between this and the Friday the 13th remake from 2009 Friday gets a better rating than this garbage! He Nightmare remake is nothing but a complete waste of everyone's time and for those who 1. Defend this film and say they liked or loved it and 2. Defend Michael Bay as a director are just morons, Michael Bay is nothing but a lame director who ruins childhoods everywhere! Nightmare remake is just brutal, its, its just pure garbage!
Nightmare remake gets 1/5 stabs, only good thing about this film is Rooney Mara and the design for Freddy as a pure burn victim more so than the actual design of the face and the voice was so much like Watchman!
