My review of 'House on Elm Lake' By William S. Mayfield

'House on Elm Lake' is the story of a young family of three that moves into a beautiful lakefront home to only find out there is horrible evil surrounding the house. Getting the house for a steal because the previous owners were murdered there years prior, the family quickly finds out sometimes the price is too good to believe.

Eric, played by Andrew Hollingworth, starts to see things around the house and discovers an old work shed with what looks like signs of black magic. Hayley, played by Becca Hirani, doesn't start to pick up on the bad things happening at first because of their daughter, played by Fay Goodwin, is adjusting to the new house and starts to get sick. The story unfolds from the evil surrounding them. Tony Manders plays Elliot, the father of the previous family that lived in the home, and in the opening, we see him brutally murder his son and wife.  All things being considered, for his second film, James Klass hits a nice line drive into the upper deck. We have a ghost\evil presence in a home with a young family, the father slowly starts to turn to the darkness and a mother who slowly starts to figure out whats happening.

Well written, directed, and cast, 'House on Elm Lake'may not be a new story but is a fresh one. I give 'House on Elm Lake' a 7 out of 10.
