French rock/metal crossover group VOLKER recently announced the release of their upcoming melodic assault, Dead Doll, hitting North American retailers on May 26, 2017 via Overpowered Records / AISA/RED distribution. North American pre-orders for Dead Doll are available now via Amazon in digital and CD formats.
 
Today, VOLKER are pleased to reveal the first single off of the new album, entitled "Voodoo Baby". The track charges forward with a raucous hard rock-meets-punk sound, weaving eerie throwback sci-fi film sounds throughout. "Voodoo Baby" is propelled by frontwoman Jen Nyx's signature horror-driven lyricism.

Guitarist and lead composer Ulrich Wegrich says, "It may come as no surprise that this song is about Voodoo stuff! It's about a lady magician owning her mystical powers and using her spells on men... for revenge! With its energetic beat and touch of 80's pop/punk/rock, this track definitely gives listeners an idea of what VOLKER is all about!"
 
In addition to the influences heard on "Voodoo Baby", Dead Doll blends assorted heavy music styles such as 90's grunge rock, retro power metal, classic rock and even horror punk to create an accessible, engaging sound.
 
Whether soaring at the top of her impressive range above striking guitar harmonies, or deftly growling amidst pummeling double bass and searing solos, singer Jen Nyx more than proves her equally-diverse skills on Dead Doll. Conjuring visions of the macabre, Nyx leads with a seductive aggression, flanked byseasoned French musicians John Aupeix on drums, Emmanuel Pliszke on bass and lead composer Ulrich Wegrich on guitars.
 
Founded in 2014, VOLKER is comprised of a group of friends forged by the French metal scene. Nyx - whose lyrical works have always been inspired by themes of horror, sorcery, dark romance and death - formerly fronted the local metalcore group Noein. When musicians Aupeix, Pliszke and Wegrich formed VOLKER as a side project (all three are currently members of extreme black/death group Otargos, and Wegrich is also the former vocalist of Regarde Les Hommes Tomber), they brought in Nyx with the intention highlighting herclean vocal abilities. As a band, their ultimate goal was to break out of the extreme metal scene and delve into a heavy, dark rock sound. Thus, VOLKER was born, and went on to record an EP and tour with major metal artists such as Moonspell.

MUSIC NEWS: VOODOO TERROR TRIBE: New Album "The Sun Shining Cold" in Stores Today!

Alternative hard rock group VOODOO TERROR TRIBE have been steadily gearing up for the release of their latest offering, The Sun Shining Cold, a 10-track onslaught featuring production from Ill Niño vocalist Cristian Machado. The day is finally here! The album is out now and available for purchase via iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, CD Baby and the band's merch store.
 
Vocalist Gil PZ states, "It's safe to say we're excited to finally release this record. We've been playing these songs live for quite a while now, and we're anxious to put hard-copies in the hands of fans and hear what they think of it. We suggest everyone snag a copy and enjoy it while you can, since it appears Western Civilization is about to collapse anyway... gotta use that electricity while you still can! We'll see you on the road again early next year..."

Over the years, alternative hard rockers VOODOO TERROR TRIBE have made a name for themselves as a mainstay in the New York tri-state area and beyond. Their intense performances and diverse discography, which includes three EP's and two full-lengths released between 2005 and 2014 (including 2009's Symptoms of Sin recorded with Billy Graziadei [Biohazard, Suicide City]), have solidified the band as a premier talent amidst a sea of contemporaries.
 
Formed by Emir Erkal on guitars (an Istanbul, Turkey native who moved to USA in order to take his musical career to the next level) and longtime friend T-Bone on drums, the duo later brought in Primer on bass and topped off their alt-metal sound with the masterfully vocalized emotional poetry by vocalist Gil PZ.
