A mad scientist animates Dracula, Frankenstein and other movie monsters, but they're only three feet tall.
Charles Band Produces and directs these monsters that come in all shapes and sizes, and if you don't believe it, this offbeat horror item will provide all the proof you need. A somewhat mad scientist, Winston Berber (Bill Moynihan), has come up with a remarkable new invention -- a machine that can create living, breathing re-creations of fictional characters from books. However, there's a slight problem with this new technology; he can only create miniature versions of these literary giants, and when he programs several classic horror novels into the machine, he suddenly has three-foot-high versions of Dracula (Phil Fondacaro), Frankenstein's Monster (Thomas Wellington), the Mummy (Joe Smith), and the Wolfman (Jon Simanton) to contend with. The pint-sized monsters soon begin making king-sized mayhem and when the monsters need a woman of virtue to put their evil schemes into high gear, pretty but virginal librarian Anna (Rhonda Griffin) becomes their next target, and it's up to her to put things back to normal.

A being from another dimension sends its own puppet to steal the formula that keeps Decapitron and his kindred alive.
Written by Douglas Aarniokoski among others, and directed by Jeff Burr. It is the fifth film in the Puppet Master franchise, the sequel to 1993's Puppet Master 4, and stars Gordon Currie as the series' third Puppet Master, and Ian Ogilvy, his colleague, whose attempts to salvage the animated puppets of André Toulon (Guy Rolfe) from the Bodega Bay Inn are foiled by a demon. As in the previous film, the puppets serve as protagonists, rather than terrorize as they had in the first and second films. As the title indicates, Puppet Master 5 was intended to be the final installment of the series. However, in 1998 a sixth entry, Curse of the Puppet Master, was released, and the series has been ongoing since.

Puppet Master (1989)
"Assailed by nightmarish visions, Alex Whitaker (Paul Le Mat) and his fellow psychics descend on the Bodega Bay Inn. There, they discover that their compatriot Neil (Jimmie F. Scaggs) has apparently committed suicide. But, as the gruesome visions continue, they sense that there's still something sinister afoot. When they find themselves hunted by a band of homicidal marionettes created by twisted puppeteer Andre Toulon (William Hickey), they discover they're right."
It seems only right that Charles Band and crews first straight to VHS stop motion, horror feature would include dolls created especially for carrying out murderous intent. Here Band also proves his ability to work with small budgets. Made for only $400,000 and still looks like the best the 80's can offer.
