On this day in horror history.... June 28th, 2006

On this day in horror history.... ripped from the pages of Marvel comics and moving it's way to the small screen, 'Blade' the television series made it's debut. I own the complete series on DVD and I have to say, it's a lot of fun. It may not be Wesley Snipes portrayal, but the cast is solid, the action is good and Sticky Fingaz does a nice job in the title role. Sadly, it never made it past season one. The network drove a stake through it's heart, before there was a season 2.

Beckinsale Rumor May Confirm Return of Blade!

With the news of a new Kate Beckinsale movie Underwold: Blood Wars where fans speculated there would be a crossover between the two vampire fighters. Beckinsale is currently at New York Comic Con and was asked about the rumour while attending a Lakeshore Entertainment Panel Q&A. When asked will there be a crossover with Blade she replied. “No. We had that idea. No. They’re busy. They’re doing something with Blade.”

While this is far from confirming what Marvel are thinking of doing with the cool dude, be it a TV series for Netflix or a movie, we now can say they will be doing something. Whether it will be Snipes in the vampire slashing role or another rapper remains to seen. We're hoping for 50 Cent ourselves.
