On this day in horror history.... horror legend and all around good guy, Robert Englund is born. Creating memorable characters in every role he plays, he's done drama, comedy, television and horror. His most memorable role is that of Freddy Krueger. The murderous man of your worst nightmares and a wise cracking icon that has become a part of the fabric of American cinema.
