Mortal Kombat Creator Wants To Make a Horror Villain Fighting Game

via iHorror...

he Mortal Kombat franchise has recently been invaded by our favorite horror icons courtesy of some of the coolest DLC content ever created. Back in 2011, Freddy Krueger was available as a playable character in Mortal Kombat, and more recently, Mortal Kombat X featured Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Predator, and an Alien Xenomorph.

Fans have for years been begging for a Mortal Kombat-style fighting game that collects together horror’s most badass villains, and the recent DLC content has whet the appetite for such a game in a big way. But will it ever actually happen, or should we just be happy with what we’ve got? Speaking with Game InformerKombat developer Ed Boon noted that he wants it as bad as we do.
“Yes, yes! You know, as we’ve been accumulating them, that idea has been coming up more and more frequently,” Boon said, when asked if he’d be interested in making a fighting game featuring horror villains and only horror villains. “You brought it up and a few other people have brought it up like ‘why don’t you do a horror movie fighting game?’ Maybe one day we’ll do it.”
